VisArts

About

Founded in 1987 as a grassroots organization serving local artists and located in the heart of Rockville, Maryland, VisArts has come a long way with more than 30,000 visitors annually to their 25,000 square foot hub of community engagement. They provide children, teens, and adults with opportunities to express their ideas, develop their talents, connect with others, and enrich their lives.

Programming

F.E.A.S.T. (Funding Emerging Art with Sustainable Tactics)  is a micro-grant raised by the people to support democratically-selected imaginative, sustainable, provocative project/s that address the theme of SURVIVAL.  Full schedule of F.E.A.S.T. activities are free and open to the public (in order to vote and eat, a donation is required).

In addition to the F.E.A.S.T. activities, open exhibitions will include Jonathan Monaghan, Natasa Galecic, Cy Keener and Justine Holzman, and NextGen 6.0.

Satellite locations set their own dates and hours for their programming, and may not have the same dates or hours as official By The People events. If you have any questions about programming or accessibility, please contact satellite locations directly
