Konshens The MC (pronounced “Conscience”)

Tarik ‘Konshens The MC' Davis is a hip-hop artist, songwriter, educator and youth advocate from Washington D.C. He is founder & CEO of Edutainment Unlimited (Arts Education/Entertainment Co.), currently a Governor on the Grammy Chapter Board, Voting Member of the Grammy Recording Academy, Grammy Museum Teaching Artist and U.S Cultural Ambassador (State Department). He is also the MC and founder of ‘Classically Dope', a classical, hip-hop group which merges hip-hop lyrics with original classical arrangements. Along with being the MC for HipHop Band "Konshens & his State of Mind". He's recently performed at the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts and has been featured on Fox, ABC and CBS networks, the Washingtonian Magazine and more. As an artist and innovator, Konshens The MC stands at the forefront of the evolution of hip-hop.

Integrates literacy, math and technology. Creative Writing Illustration in Spoken Word/Hip-Hop and Basic Audio/Music Production encourages creative expression and self-empowerment through spoken word, songwriting, music production, and the creation of digital media. Using Song Writing and Story-telling as a means of shifting mindsets and shaping realities. To instill the values of love, peace, acceptance, and positivity through personal expression.  The introduction to spoken word poetry, and construction of original poetic pieces. Basic writing techniques used in spoken word poetry and hip hop,  as well as the importance of rhyme cadence, vocal tone and inflection.

Songwriting structures to include: AAA, AABA, Verse/Chorus, and Verse/Chorus/Bridge. We will also cover lyrical structure components for verses. With regards to music production, basic music production techniques will be covered that including recording via Garage Band program, with the end goal being to facilitate and record the entire song creation process.
