Experimental Generative Poetry Workshop & VR Experience
Sunday, June 23, 11:45am-12:45pm
Explore the antipode with Halcyon Arts Lab Fellow, Jessica Mehta, creator of the experimental form. With roots in the palindrome and reverse poetry, antipodes can be read forward or backward word by word an integrate technology and mixed media in the process via various facets including proprietary algorithms, virtual reality software, and visual representations. In this generative workshop, participants play with creating their own antipode while also having the opportunity to embody the antipodes of indigenous women to enhance understanding, compassion, and empathy.
Get a preview of the antipode at www.jessicamehta.com/antipode and discover a new poetic process while retaining your unique voice. No experience in poetry is necessary, and all are welcome.
This event will be ASL interpreted.
